5 TENSES WE FREQUENTLY USE

1. Simple Present Tense
This tenses is used to explain fact, habitual, and event that nowadays happen.
The formula is :
(+) S + V1 (s+es)
Ex : The sun rises from the east
          S              V
        We eat three time a day
        We eats three time a day
(-) S+do/does+not+V1
Ex : The sun doesn’t rise from the west
        We don’t eat three time a day
(?) Do/does+S+V1

The question :
a) I+V1 : I take a bath twice a day
(-) I don’t take a bath twice a day
(?) Do I take a bath twice a day
b) You+V1 : You make the cake
(-) You don’t make the cake
(?) Do you make the cake?
c) They+V1 : They open the door
(-) They don’t open the door
(?) Do they open the door?
d) She+V1 (s/es) : She makes the cake
(-) She don’t makes the cake
(?) Does she make the cake?
e) He+V1 (s/es) : Egi takes a bath twice a day

2. Simple Past Tense
This tenses is used to denote that a event on the past.
The formula is :
(+) S+V2
(-) S+did+not+V1
(?) Did+S+V1?

The question :
a) I (try) my best (S:she)
(+) She tried my best
(-) She didn’t try my best
(?) Did she try her best
b) We (like) the beach so much (S:he)
(+) He liked the beach so much
(-) He didn’t like the beach so much
(?) Did he like the beach so much?
c) She always (drink) fresh water every morning (S:you)

3. Present/Past Continous Tense
Present continuous is used to talk the action while going on now or planning on future. Whereas past continous is used to pronounce that a action while certain to time happen on the past.
The formula is :
(+) S+be+Ving
(-) S+be+not+Ving
(?) Be+S+Ving?
Ex : They are going to campus by bus
(-) They are not going to campus by bus
(?) Are they going to campus by bus?

4. Simple Future Tense
This tenses is used to explain that a action happen on future, according spontaneous or planned
The Formula is :
(+) S+will+V1
(-) S+will+not+V1
(?) Will+S+V1?
Ex : They will go to campus by bus
(-) They will not go to campus by bus
(?) Will they go to campus by bus?

5. Present Perfect Tense
This tenses is used to pronounce a activity or the situation has start on the past and has finish to a certain point in time or still continous until now.
The formula is :
(+) S+has/have+V3
(-) S+has/have+not+V3
(?) Has/have +S+V3?
Ex : They have gone to campus by bus
(+) They has gone to campus by bus
(-) They has not gone to campusby bus
(?) Has they gone to campus by bus?

The Question :
1) She (drink) coffee. (S. Past)
(+) She drank coffee
(-) She didn’t drink coffee
(?) Has she drankcoffee?
2) They (start) the course. (Pr.Perfect)
(+) They have started the course
(-) They have not started the course
(?) Have they started the course?
3) Ana and Linda (open) the account. (Past Cont)

4) The bank (close) at 5pm. (S.Present)
